Transported from Egypt to the United States as a slave when she was 10 years old, Shyima Hall was forced to do housework for a wealthy Californian family. At night she slept in a garage with no windows and only a dirty mattress. Now Hall looks forward to her future with much hope after becoming an American citizen on December of 2011.
