Purpose

The Texas Abolitionist Workshop is an opportunity for communities across the state of Texas to acquire the tools and resources needed to establish anti-human trafficking coalitions. Participants will learn how to raise awareness in their community by attending sessions led by experts and through experiencing innovative approaches to educating and training the public. Participants will receive a flash drive containing Speaker’s presentations and other workshop material.

Cost

The registration fee is $25 per person. Continental Breakfast and Lunch will be provided. An afternoon snack has also been donated by Swirll Yogurt.

Who may attend the workshop?

HRRC encourages all community members, faith based groups, and NGO’s located across the State of Texas and beyond who are interested in raising awareness about human trafficking and training front line professionals in their community to attend. Established coalitions or awareness groups that are looking for new and innovative ideas are also welcome.

What are the requirements to attend?

We ask that participants already have a basic understanding of human trafficking before attending the workshop. The workshop is not intended to be a human trafficking 101.

What if I need to stay overnight?

A room block has been reserved at a discounted price at the Magnolia Hotel, directly across the street from the workshop. A group number will be given in order to access the room block once you have registered.

Will I be able to register at the door?

No, sorry. We have limited space available for this event and will not be accepting registrations at the door.

Will I be able to pay at the door?

No, in order to confirm your place at the workshop participants must pay in advance through our website.
