Naughty and Nice Shopping Guide

Houston Rescue and Restore Coalition is inviting you to have an anti-human trafficking holiday season in every way possible! Start out with this list of our favorite “Nice” slave-free products and then use our Shop Smart tips to come up with your own ideas on how to have a slave-free holiday season this year! Many of these products are not only fair trade, but several are made by survivors of human trafficking.

What is fair trade shopping and why should I buy fair trade?

Buying fair trade means that you are buying products that adhere to predefined rules, that give fair and living wages to all employed under the company. The UK based charity Oxfam defines fair trade as “an alternative livelihood for small producers, generating a new source of income and employment.”
