Legislation introduced by Washington state would require verification by classified-advertising companies of the ages of escorts listed in sex-related listings. The Seattle Police Department has connected 22 cases of child prostitution with advertisements listed on Backpage.com. Sen. Jeanne Kohl-Welles hopes that this law will move Backpage.com to demand proof of age for those listed as escorts on their site. Read the full story here.
